The following organizations can assist a military veteran with brain injury:
- Department of Veterans Affairs - The Department of Veterans Affairs provides a wide range of benefits including disability benefits, education and training, vocational rehabilitation and employment, home loan guaranty, dependent and survivor benefits, medical treatment, life insurance and burial benefits. Determine your eligibility here.
- Vet Centers provide individual, group and family counseling to all veterans who served in a combat zone.
- Defense and Veterans Brain Injury Center (DVBIC) - The Defense and Veterans Brain Injury Center (DVBIC) treats service members and veterans with mild, moderate or severe TBI, and helps them from the moment of injury to their return to duty or reintegration into the community. DVBIC develops, provides and distributes educational materials for both military and civilian providers, families, service members and veterans.
